 SUPPORT FOR EDUCATION AND ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT

Support for Educational and Economic Development (S. E. E. D.) is a USA based Non-Profit Charity, a 501 (C) (3) organization (Tax ID:27-1309131) that is dedicated to reduce poverty. SEED is formed to conduct its charitable activities in the slum areas of India.

The donations raised by SEED from individuals in USA, will fund education of poor children, for technical training of men/women leading to employment, and for improving healthy living by teaching personal hygiene techniques to prevent sickness and by providing medical assistance to needy people.

SEED believes in “Charity with dignity”

We will treat the aid recipients with the respect and dignity they deserve. SEED will operate in an environment in which the beneficiaries will have self-esteem. By making available quality education and technical training, SEED hopes to provide opportunities for success to slum area residents.

SEED believes:

• Education is best tool to reduce poverty.
• Access to quality education and technical training is a basic right.
• Quality education will develop self confident, law abiding citizens.
• Women have major responsibility of bringing up future generations, and their education is a vital part in the development of a civil society.
• Healthy living will reduce economic burden on the poor families.

 

Vision

SEED will be recognized as a Non-Profit Charity working to reduce poverty, improve quality of life and to promote economic development by implementing educational and medical care programs, especially for underprivileged children and women, in the economically backward areas in India.

Mission

To implement educational and medical care programs with focus on projects that will reduce ignorance, improve literacy and quality of life in economically backward areas of India.

Objectives

To operate in an honest and transparent manner with integrity, responsibility, and exemplary standards.

To follow the law of the land and treat all people equal (will not discriminate on the basis of race, color, religious affiliation, sex, age and language).

To provide quality education and technical training to economically backward children and unemployed youth leading to employment and success.

To provide financial assistance and consultation to needy sick people to promote personal hygiene and to prevent spread of infectious disease.

WHAT WE DO?

Educate Children

Education’s purpose is to replace an empty mind with an open one. (Malcolm S. Forbes)

We provide scholarships to orphans and poor children through schools that are operating in slum areas. We provide books, school supplies, uniforms, school bags and shoes. We work with the school management and hire qualified teachers, assist in teacher’s training & development. We help the schools in furnishing computers and libraries, and help in maintaining a functional facility. We also monitor student’s progress and make suggestions for improvement. Our aim is to develop these children into self confident, hardworking, successful people.

Job Oriented Courses

Vocational College
We provide scholarships for vocational college education (2-Year Para-Medical Certificate & Diploma Programs) leading to employment.
• 2-Year Certificate Vocational courses include; Medical Lab Technician, X-Ray Technician, Multipurpose Health Worker, Pre-School Teacher’s Training.
• 2-Year Diploma in Medical Lab Work and Medical Image Technology.

Teacher’s Training
We provide financial assistance (educational expenses and loan) to in-Service teachers for pursuing Pre-Primary Teacher’s Training Certificate (PPTT) and degree in Education (BEd).
We also Provide Scholarships to day students for PPTT at Princess Essin Women’s College

Nursing and Higher Education
We provide scholarships to female students pursuing Nursing degree.
We provide scholarships for higher education to deserving students who are Orphans and or destitute.

Hands-on Training for school drop outs
We provide training such as Tailoring, Embroidery and Hina design to female students who do not go to school or dropped out of school due to economic problems. A 6-months training provides ability to tailor clothes and earn their living.

Scholarships are also granted for Fashion design, cooking and catering courses for female students.

We also provide driver’s education to youth who have dropped out of school. A 3-months Driver’s Education program with government approved drivers license gives these youth an opportunity for employment.

Medical Assistance

We provide free medical care and medicines to poor Diabetic patients. This support is given through “DR. G. Ahmad Diabetic Clinics”, where a qualified doctor attends to patients and medicines are distributed and laboratory testing is conducted free of cost. DR. G. A. Trust Clinics are operated in 4 poor localities in Hyderabad, India. Each clinic serves 200 patients.

We also plan to publish literature about infectious diseases to increase awareness in the local communities about prevention of such diseases.
