DO WE LACK RESOURCES?
Resources are key ingredients for any planning; lack of resources is very common complaint, made by individuals, families, society, organizations and governments. It is common practice to estimate and arrange enough resources before hand, once a task is taken on hand.
But what if someone is dreaming about a big project and has no resources at all on hand and to top it, does not have any clue from where to get the resources or how will they become available?
There are many individuals who accomplished remarkable success by their sheer will power and patience, even while facing critical shortage of resources. They are so passionate about their dreams, ready to work hard and have the patience to wait till they accomplish desired results.
In a recent episode of “Satyamev Jayate” by Aamir khan (Bollywood Actor), there are interesting and inspiring stories of the individuals who by their sheer will power, circumvented the situations and achieved the desired results even when the resources are almost absent. Below are some stories that are absolutely amazing and incredible.
School Principal for 10 years at the age of 19 – Babar Ali.
Babar Ali grew up in a village in India where going to school was not possible for every kid. He was lucky enough to enroll in a school in a nearby village. Other kids of his age in the village were not so lucky and this situation was making young Babar restless.
Initially as a part of childhood play Babar Ali started teaching his five play pals at the tender age of 9 years. On returning home from school he would become a teacher and teach other boys what he learned at the school. This daily play turned into serious practice of teaching and learning, over a period of time. Other boys and girls from the village started learning from Babar, the front yard of Babar Ali’s house became a school under open sky.
Looking at his deep commitment and results he achieved people of village joined him in his efforts. Eventually Babar’s efforts resulted in a full fledge school. Several hundred kids from his village and nearby villages joined the school. A play activity has turned into a regular school now and at the age of 19, doing his senior years in the college Babar Ali is principal of the school for last 10 years. Everyone should contribute for the betterment of society to the best of their capacity is the belief of Babar Ali.
A hospital built by a daily laborer.
A lady Subhashini Mistry, was struck by a tragedy, when her husband was sick and poverty prevented them from getting treatment, ultimately her husband lost his life. Subhashini was devastated by this loss; the fact that her husband could not get treatment for lack of money was unbearable for her. She made up her mind to build a hospital which will offer free treatment for poor. It was her aim that others should not face same fate as she faced. To fulfill her desire she decided to educate her son in medical field and make him a doctor.
This decision was nothing but a dream, as she was extremely poor. She sold vegetables on the sides of road, did daily labor work and was picking rags to bring bread to the table. Hard circumstances forced her to put her kid in an orphan house. But she did not lose courage; she inspired her son to be a doctor and to serve human kind. After a long and hard battle her son became a doctor and started serving poor community from a hut. Over the course of time it developed into full-fledged hospital, now no one is refused treatment just because they do not have capacity to pay.
Handicapped Lady started school for handicapped.
Naseema, a young girl, when she became of victim of polio at the age of 16, she was shattered and started mulling over ending her life. While discussing her thoughts with her mentor she was advised by her mentor, “When you lose hopes for yourself start living for the others”.
She took this advice by heart and started helping other handicapped kids. She started an organization where she was teaching handicapped students to be self sufficient. It was her desire that handicapped kids should also get same chances as other normal kids would get. As time passed this developed in an institution called Helpers of Handicapped, which included a school. To give boost to self confidence of the handicapped kids she enrolls normal and handicapped kids together. It has been 45 years since she started her efforts; by her efforts she has helped almost 18,000 kids so far.
All these people achieved incredible results with sheer gut and will power, is it not true, “Where there is a will, there is a way!”?
