GMAA was established in June 1990 to help our society for its social and educational upliftment. Creating awareness about need of education was the main goal for the founding members of the GMAA. For last 24 years, Al Hamdulillah GMAA has helped the society enormously by sincere dedication and hard work of its board members and volunteers. Through various program they worked tirelessly to support the education of talented but economically deprived children of the society. GMAA is also active in the other spheres of social services like taking care of widows, disaster and riot reliefs, religious education and collection and distribution of zakat.

GMAA has variety of programs, noticeable among them are,

Scholarship Program:

The objective of this program is to provide financial help to talented needy Muslim students for their further study. The eligible student can apply online or download the scholarship application form. The student can send it to co-organization in Gujarat, “Rehmani Charitable Trust” or “Br. Farooq Bawani” in Rajkot, on behalf of the GMAA with copy of credentials records/copy of mark sheets by fax/post/courier. This program is available for the student who belongs to Gujarat or whose parents are from Gujarat, India. The GMAA provides financial assistance for tuition fees & books only. Under this Scholarship Program of the GMAA, Gujarati Muslim students have received scholarships at high school to college levels in different fields of study throughout Gujarat State.

Education Promotion Program:

GMAA has been working with the other local organizations in Gujarat, such as Gujarat Masturat Sewa Trust, Rahemani Charitable Trust, Shahpur Sewa Samaj, Ahmedabad Muslim Women Association (AMWA), Sarovar Education Society, Ajmeri Education & charitable Trust, to help Muslim community at large in the field of the Education, Widows help, Riot victims, Teachers motivation program, Financial help for education and Sponsor A Student. GMAA, especially wants to establish a high level coaching center for IAS and IPS officer’s exam, with full facilities.

Sponsor A student Program:

This program has been introduced to enhance and uplift the ability of the student to attend and finish the schooling with the help of GMAA community members, (It may be the Board members, community members or any other non-GMAA member donors), which are called Sponsor. The sponsor needs to give the name or names of the Student before, giving money to GMAA. In order to sponsor a said student, he or she will have to give money to use for the sponsored student in Gujarat, India. Sponsor must provide authenticity information of Student. GMAA sends whole 100 % amount to the sponsored student.

Talent Search Program:

GMAA is trying to locate talented but needy students and help them in furthering their careers, with the help of other organizations in Gujarat.

Teachers Motivation Seminar:

The objective of this program is to motivate Muslim teachers to be more productive and help Muslim students in the field of education. The GMAA sponsors “Teacher’s Motivation Seminar” where all the Muslim teachers are getting to gather and work on the following activities with the organizer:

·            Share their ideas on education

·            Share their experience

·            Team building activities

·            Leadership activities

·            How to be more productive towards our community

·            How to motivate students for better education & sports activities

This program was started in the year 1998 and till date 186 school and college teachers have participated in the GMAA sponsored “Teachers’ Motivation Seminar”. Very highly educated and well qualified Professors, and Teachers conducts this seminars, interested teachers may contact the GMAA for the schedule and venue.
